Welcome to Coyote Select Baseball Organization
An elite level youth baseball organization representing the Chicagoland area is offering qualified student-athletes the opportunity to excel at the highest level by providing athletic training and educational benefits in the form of character development and sportsmanship. The program’s goal is to develop well-rounded individuals who are involved in public and community services, strives for and maintains scholastic achievement, and establish personal and team goals. Coyote Select Baseball will help shape the future of every player by giving them the opportunity to develop self-confidence, build camaraderie as teammates, gain leadership abilities and improve their athletic skills. The mission of Coyote Select is to build a foundation of long-term excellence on the playing field, in the classroom and beyond. We strive to foster a winning culture through a commitment to ongoing training, skill development and high-level competition. We want to prepare our players for future success, both on and off the field. Coyote Baseball places an emphasis on helping our athletes achieve maximum development of their skills. We take a long-term view to a player’s development, rather than on short-term outcomes. In carrying out this approach, we strive to teach our players from the ground up, with unwavering and ongoing attention to the basic fundamentals of baseball. It is upon this solid fundamental core that our players can continue to build.
We expect that one of the positive outcomes of a consistent focus on skill development will be team success on the field. However, our emphasis is not on winning per se, but on cultivating a winning culture. The difference is that we are less concerned with our teams’ winning percentages, and more interested in helping our players develop individually and grow as a team. A high winning percentage and tournament wins may be byproducts of the efforts of our coaching staff and players, but they are not what define Coyote Select Baseball. We are committed to helping players develop their skills to the fullest extent possible. But this commitment to our players’ development cannot be a one-way street; a program can be truly successful only if there is a reciprocal commitment on the part of the parents and players. Through supplemental practice in their local batting cage or field, parents must strive to reinforce the fundamentals and techniques taught by our coaches. In addition, we expect our players and parents to carry themselves both on and off the field in a way that reflects positively on the organization.
2012 MLB Rookie of the Year and current Washington Nationals OF Bryce Harper welcomes members of Select Baseball for our new Season. Continue to work hard and develop your skills both athletically and academically and you will gain the success needed to make it at any level in life, whether on the field or off.
